Springboard America, Scam or Legit? My Review
If you are looking to earn some extra money taking paid surveys online then Springboard America is one of your choices. But is this a good choice? or is Springboard America a scam that is going to be nothing more than a waste of your time?
In have looked into this survey panel to see how good it really is. In this short review I’ll be going over a few key points you should know as well as if I recommend using this site.
Springboard America Review
- Website: springboardamerica.com
- Type: Paid survey site
- Cost to Join: Free
- Rewards: Paypal cash, Visa gift cards,
- Recommended?: For some, more on this
Springboard America is an online survey panel that anyone in the US can join for free and earn easy money taking short surveys. This is a concept that has been around for a while and is nothing new.
The point of sites like this is to gather people’s opinions for market research purposes. They get paid money by companies to collect opinions so that those companies can go out and provide better products and services.
All in all this site is decent but nothing special when compared to other similar sites.
How It Works
1) Sign Up
The first step is obviously to sign up but you should hold off on this until you read this whole review.
The process is pretty simple and nearly identical to that of Angus Reid Forum (if you have ever heard of this place). Anyway, you will be asked basic things like your name, email, location and gender. Then it will go on to ask you a series of questions so that they can create a profile for you. Questions about your income, household size, grocery shopping, and so on will be included.
Once you fill out everything you will either qualify or disqualify for membership. If you qualify they will send you and email where you will have to confirm your account.
2) Take Surveys
Next you are ready to take surveys and earn money. You will be invited to take surveys that they feel you meet the qualifications for. For each completed survey you will earn what they call “survey dollars”, which you can then cash out for real dollars once you reach the threshold of $50.
3) Cash Out
As mentioned, once you get up to $50 in your account you can cash out. They offer a variety of different payment options that you can choose from which I will go over.
The rewards that a survey site offers are a “make or break” part for me. If they don’t have any rewards that I like then I won’t even bother with the site.
And unfortunately they don’t offer my favorite method of payment which is PayPal. They do however offer Paylution, which is very similar to Paypal just not as popular. Alternatively you can cash out for pre-paid Visas and Amazon gift cards.
I guess I would go with the pre-paid Visas which are a pretty good alternative to Paypal.
How Much Money Can You Make?
Springboard America is nothing special when it comes to the earning potential they offer. They pay out right around what I consider to be the industry standard… not much at all.
Each survey that you get will generally take anywhere from 5 to 25 minutest to complete. And the amount that you will get paid upon completion will generally range from $0.50 to $4.00, with the longer surveys paying more than the shorter ones.
If you were to get a $4 survey over and over again you could actually make decent money, but unfortunately things just don’t work like that. You won’t get invited to surveys that often and you definitely shouldn’t expect to be able to take surveys back to back to back.
Lack of Opportunity
As I just stated, you shouldn’t expect many survey offers. Its not uncommon to only get a few per week or maybe even less. Much of this depends on your demographic and how you filled out your profile. For each survey they are looking for people of a certain demographic, so this means that not everyone will receive the same amount of offers.
They also only offer paid surveys as a way to make money, whereas sites like SwagBucks offer all sorts of ways including surveys, games, watching videos, etc.
Payments Take Forever
I have read over multiple complaints about how long it takes to receive payments. And when I say long I am talking about over a month or even 2. That is pretty ridiculous in my opinion and is definitely something that would steer me away from this place.
As I’ve said, this place pays right around what is common for these survey sites….meaning less than minimum wage. If you factor in the time spent trying to qualify for surveys into the equation you are pretty much always making less than minimum wage.
This isn’t really a complain of mine but more so a complaint that others have posted. I don’t expect much when it comes to sites like this so I can’t complain too much about the pay.
High Cash Out Threshold
Their $50 cash out threshold is very high compared to other survey sites and is a pain. It can take a while to reach this amount and actually be able to get your money.
Final Thoughts & What I Recommend
I don’t really care too much for Springboard America. They are legitimate and definitely not a scam, but there are better choices out there. My main complaint with this site is the overall lack of opportunity that they offer. There is only one way to earn money (surveys) and even with that you don’t have many offers available to make money with.
SwagBucks still ranks #1 when it comes to paid survey sites because they have a heck of a lot of opportunity and ways to earn, and they make it more fun and exciting for members.
However, I don’t particularly recommend any paid survey site, unless you are looking for an extremely easy way to earn some extra pocket change. But to me they all seem like a waste of time and there are better ways to make money online with your spare time.
I actually make a living working online and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it if you want to.
