My Journey to Online Success
Before I get too into this I, if you are looking for a legitimate way to make money online then check out my recommendation below...
(This is exactly how I make a living ($4-5,000/mo) working online)
As you should already know my name is Kyle and I am the founder and author here at Online Financial Success Story. At this point there is no doubt that my financial world is successful and that my online business practices are working. However, it was not all that long ago that I was struggling with income. So lets me give you a summary of my story and how I got to where I am today.
The Beginning/Post College Graduation
Throughout college my focus was to become a police officer. I was pretty much a straight A student and at the top of my class. My focus was to become a police officer (I know you don’t need a degree), but for matters that I won’t get into my mind changed completely on this subject. Post graduation I did not really know what I wanted to do with my degree and ended up working a few dead end jobs including warehouse, maintenance, etc. type work.
To make things even worse I was laid off less than a year later. So, like many people do in this circumstance, I filed for unemployment and moved back in with my parents. I was pretty down on myself at this point and felt like it couldn’t get much worse. I was searching for jobs and going to interviews by the day but just couldn’t seem to find anything I would enjoy.
How I Almost Got Scammed
Soon after, I forget how exactly I came across it, but I found some email spam on how I could make a full time income online and it looked like a piece of cake. I must have entered my contact info because they contacted me the day after.
So I received a phone call from “Leila” of Dymanic Referral Solutions. Note: I know names/numbers/details & everything because I wrote it all down She began telling me about this amazing way to make money by being a CPA (cost per action) marketer. Basically I would get money from every action someone took on my website. It could be from filling out a survey, clicking on an add, filling out another type of form, a lot of different things. I had a lot of questions that this lady couldn’t answer so she transferred me to what she called the “head of the marketing division” or something like that.
His name was “Mike Johnson”. The name kind of seems fake right? Anyway he had me start out listening to a 20 minuted or so over the phone recording about how awesome this opportunity was. They even would build and maintain my website for me. So literally all I would have to do is pay a down-payment to get this whole process started and I would earn income by sitting on my ass for most of the time. The only job I had was to drive traffic to my website which they made sound like a piece of cake because I would have their help.
One thing that I found odd right off the bat, was that he kept telling me in one way or another how that this opportunity was legit and not a scam. If its really not a scam then you wouldn’t feel the need to keep saying it. He even had me go to onlinebusinessbureau.com, which is supposedly dedicated to protecting people form scams online (don’t know if this is a legit site either). Of course on this site it showed dynamicreferralsolutions.com as being in good standing and was recommended. Once the legitimacy talk was out of the way it was time for the offer.
Mike was all too kind (sarcasm). He offered my the “deluxe package” for ONLY $390. With this deal I would receive my custom website in 24-72 hours and a personal advertising consultant.
Almost Went for It, But Didn’t
I’ll tell you what, I was very lucky what happened to me. Fortunately, my debit card had been used in China a couple days before this, so the bank called me and we deactivated it.
It was this reason that I told Mike that I couldn’t pay for it at this time but to give me a call back later in the week. This gave me time to do some research on dymanic referral solutions and realize that this was the stupidest thing I have ever heard. It turned out that the number he had called me from I could not call back (Still don’t know how that works). Also, the address which I found from onlinebusinessbureau.com I traced back to a UPS store in Arizona.
If I had my debit card at the time I very well might have made that payment. I guess I was desperate for money and my brain was not working adequately.
So Then I Kept Looking For Other Ways to Make Money Online
I went for probably 2 weeks or so searching everyday online for ways to earn online. There was a bunch of dumb little things I signed up for, like swagbucks and different paid survey websites, but nothing worth any real value.
I was about to give up on the whole “online money” thing. It seemed that most opportunities were really just scams and that the only way for an individual to make money online was to work for someone else, doing telemarketing or some crap like that. But then I decided to give something that I had seen around a bit a try.
How My Success Started
I was on a forum (can’t remember what one) about making money online, reading a bunch of personal testimony on how different people do it. I came across a post by someone mentioning affiliate marketing and wealthy affiliate. This was probably the 3rd or 4th time I had come across someone talking about wealthy affiliate, so I looked into it a little more and decided to visit their website, wealthyaffiliate.com.
-Note: for those of you who don’t know. Affiliate marketing is when you promote and market products. You do not actually sell the product. You just help drive traffic and sales to the websites that do sell the products. Different companies have their own affiliate programs. Take a look at Amazon.com’s, its one of the biggest there is.
I was still a little suspicious of the site, after being almost scammed and all. But they offered a free trial so I decided to go for it.
After about 3 days or so I purchased a membership (not too expensive) and that was one of my best decisions thus far. I owe just about all of my affiliate marketing success to wealthy affiliate. Wealthy affiliate is more than just a site, it is a community. It is the largest site for affiliate help there is. Going through the courses and lessons provided, I was able to set up my own website (hosting included in membership), drive traffic to my website, and earn a hefty income.
With this help I learned how to best create a website that would attract viewers and better convert them to customers, how to use SEO (search engine optimization) to help drive traffic to my site, and how to use social networking to drive even more traffic to my site.
I can’t imagine being as successful as I am now without the help from WA. The tools provided and the help given from others who have been successful is worth a lot. There are literally thousands of people on the site and when I needed help I could get it usually within the hour (often much less).
My Life Currently
Today I sitting peacefully on a good financial future. And remember, it wasn’t long ago that I was unemployed and living with my parents (of course I moved out).
Now I work when I want to, from anywhere that has the internet. When I want to visit family I don’t have to call off work or reschedule. I just go.
Things to Know
One very important point that I want to make clear is that “you reap what you sow”. For me I didn’t have children or other obligations to tend to so I was able to dedicate a good amount of time toward affiliate marketing and my online business. If you want this to work you need to put in effort.
If you put in 1 hour a day chances are this will be a side job for you. But maybe thats what you want? Thats the great thing about this. You can tailor it to your life. Work 8 hours a day or work 1 hour a day.
Also, know that the money doesn’t come over night. It took me a couple of months to start making money. I almost called it quits, but I didn’t and I am lucky for that.
I hope you can be successful as me. Listen to my advice, be patient, don’t get carried away with the money, and I don’t see a reason why you can’t be successful.
