Is Survey Club a Scam or Not? – A Few Things To Know

Survey Club is one of the many choices out there where you can take surveys online and make a little extra money. But is this place a good choice? Or is Survey Club a scam that is going to be a serious waste of your time?

I recently did a little “investigating” on this site because it was on my list of things to look into. I’m always looking into ways to make money online and online survey panels are a something that I look into often. In this short review I’ll be going over some things you should know about this site and ultimately whether or not I think its a good choice.

  • Website: surveyclub.com
  • Type: Paid survey site
  • Cost: Free to join
  • Legit?: Yes

Overview

Survey Club is a market research panel that conducts its research via online surveys. They are free to sign up for and you get paid for participation.

The reason they pay money is simple… they conduct research for big companies on consumers and these companies pay them. They then pay you a small amount as incentive to take the surveys in the first place.

This site is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to paid survey sites and if you are familiar with popular ones like Harris Poll Online or GlobalTestMarket then you know how this all works. But I’ll explain it briefly for those who don’t…

How It Works

1) Sign Up

This is free to do and takes less than a minute to do. You can do this one their site surveyclub.com

2) Fill Out Profile

You will then need to complete your profile. This includes filling out information such as your income, education level, gender, etc.

It is very important that you fill this out correctly because this place will be using this information to match you up with surveys.

3) Take Surveys

There will be a tab called “available surveys” once you are logged in that will list the surveys that you can take. By each survey it will tell you what it is about, how long it will take, and how much you will make from taking it.

4) Cash Out

After you have accumulated enough cash in your account you will be able to cash it out with a several different ways of your choice.

The Rewards

You can choose to cash out your money via Paypal, check, or for an Amazon gift card. This isn’t all that many ways to cash out but it works for me. I always just go with Paypal if its available because it is simple, fast, and its money that you can use for anything.

How Much Can You Make?

If you are expecting to make much then you are just going to be disappointed. This is an opportunity where you can make some extra bucks in your spare time but by no means are going to make much.

The surveys pay out between $0.25 – $6.00 but generally you can expect them to fall into the $0.50 to $3.00 range. And they will take anywhere from 5-30 minutes to complete. Usually the longer surveys pay better than the shorter ones but that is just a general statement.

Complaints

My Biggest Complaint

The main problem that I have with this site is that many of the surveys that they offer are not actually their surveys. Instead they just refer you to other survey sites that you will have to sign up for in order to take them. You see this a lot with survey sites and I don’t like it. I like to sign up for a single survey site and not have to go through the hassle of signing up for a bunch more.

The surveys that they actually host on Survey Club will show you the payout price that you will make once you take them. But the surveys that they don’t host and that they are referring you somewhere else for will just say “special” where the payout is listed as you can see here…

They were trying to refer me to VIP Voice and E-Poll for the 2 surveys that I circled above.

Some Other Complaints

Other than what I just went over, 2 other complaints I can think of  include…

Low Pay

There are some surveys that you will get that pay pretty good but many of them pay extremely low. The pay for each survey is more inconsistent than many other similar survey sites that I have reviewed.

I don’t really see the low pay as a complaint personally because its what I expect, but I listed it here because I know a lot of other people are complaining about it.

Disqualified!

There are going to be times when you start to take a survey and then get disqualified after a bit. This is because they all of a sudden determine that you aren’t a good fit for the survey based on how you answered some of the initial questions.

This is going to happen with every survey site but I think Survey Club could do a better job at pre-qualifying participants.

One tip for you so that this doesn’t happen as much is to fill out your profile accurately.

Final Thoughts & What I Recommend

Survey Club is a legit site and you can make money taking simple and short paid surveys online. But its not what I would recommend if you are looking for a good paid survey site. I would recommend SwagBucks over this site for several reasons, some of which include: SwagBucks has more ways to earn money (games, offers, etc), they have more opportunity, and they host more of their own surveys instead of referring you all over the place.

But honestly, I don’t really recommend any paid survey site all that much. They are an easy way to earn a little extra change but that’s it…. just extra change.

There are better ways to make money with your spare time. I actually make a living working for myself online and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys.
