Is Pro Opinion a Scam? Are Their Surveys Worth Your Time
If you are looking to make some extra money taking paid surveys at Pro Opinion, then you should read this. There are some pros and cons to this site that you should be aware of before signing up.
Is Pro Opinion a scam? I wouldn’t go as far as to say that. But they aren’t the amazing opportunity that they may seem to be. In this review I will go over all you need to know about this site, how it all works, how much money you can make, do I recommend it?, etc. After reading this over you will know whether or not this is something you want to get into.

Pro Opinion isn’t your normal paid survey site. Not only do they offer paid surveys, but they also have guest bloggers and industry experts that provide a plethora of information on working online, increasing productivity, perfecting your resume, and pretty much anything that has to do with making money. There is some decent info provided here.
But what I’m going to be covering in this review are the paid surveys.
With ProOpinion you can make money by participating in online surveys, which is similar to SwagBucks, MySurvey, Harris Poll Online, etc. These surveys are supposed to be “business surveys”, but you will find that they will cover just about any topic.
You are rewarded for participating in surveys with “points”, which can then be redeemed for thing of real cash value.
How It All Works
The process of how it all works is pretty simple and you probably already know this but I will go over it real quick anyhow…
1) Sign Up
Signing up is free. All you have to do is provide your name, email, birthday, address, and then some other personal information like your income level, employment status, etc.
2) Take Surveys
Surveys are emailed to you or you can just login to your account and go to “take surveys” to see the list of ones that are available.
Each survey takes 10-35 minutes generally and rewards you in points.
3) Get Rewards
After accumulating your points you can redeem them for things like gift cards or even cash via PayPal.
How Much Money Can You Make?
The unfortunate answer to this question is not very much. It has become the industry standard to pay very little for online surveys like this. This is because it is easy for market research companies like Pro Opinion to collect people’s opinions online, there is no need to pay much.
The amount you will make for each survey you take will vary. It will depend on the length of the survey, the topic, and other things. But generally you can expect to earn 75 – 450 points.
How Much Is a Point Worth?
In order to understand how much money you are really making here you have to find the value of a point.
The value of each point is 1 cent. So you will need 100 points to = $1.
This means that if you are earning 75-450 points per survey that you are really earning $0.75 – $4.50 per survey.
What Would Your Hourly Wage Be?
Its not realistic to look at this in terms of hourly wage, because there just aren’t enough surveys for you to take hour after hour. But if you were to think of it this way this is how much you are making…
Each survey takes 10-35 minutes generally, and since I said you can make anywhere from $0.75 to $4.50 per survey, you might assume that you can make anywhere from around $1.45 – $27 per hour.
However, this isn’t realistic at all because generally the longer surveys are going to be the ones paying more and the shorter ones paying less. If I had to give you a range of how much you could make in an hour I would say $4 – $8.
This should be expected with a survey site like this. As mentioned, this has become the industry standard. At least Pro Opinion doesn’t lie and make you believe that you will be making a lot of money.
You also will not have unlimited surveys to complete, so its not like you can just do survey after survey to make money all day. The money you can make is limited.
Getting “Screened Out”
This is a pain, but its just going to happen, and will happen with any survey site.
What happens is that you will start to take a survey and they will all of a sudden kick you out and say that you are no what they are looking for. This is a waste of time and is frustrating but is just going to happen.
Problems When You Make Too Much
I have no personal experience with this, but I have run into multiple reviews online that speak of it.
Apparently people that are making more money than Pro Opinion likes to pay out start running into problems that make it more difficult for them to make money.
Some people have said that their survey opportunities have dropped drastically, in some cases from 10 surveys a day to just 2-3.
Others have said that their accounts had suddenly been shut down because they “violated the terms of service” or “broke company policy”, yet no good explanation for what they did wrong was given.
Final Thoughts & Do I Recommend This Place?
Honestly I do not care much for any online paid survey site. The opportunity with this site just isn’t there and you barely make any money for the time you put in.
That said, if you are interested in earning pocket change taking paid surveys, then I do think that ProOpinion is one of the better choices out there. Sure there are complaints that I just went over but you will have complaints with any site. Overall, this place is definitely a legit site and pays better than a lot of others, although still not much.
But like I said, I don’t really recommend any paid survey site. They just don’t pay much at all and there are better ways to make money online with your spare time.
I make a living working online for myself and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it.
