Is Perfectly Posh a Scam? Some Things To Know
If you are thinking about becoming a Perfectly Posh consultant so that you can make money from home, you should read this first. Why do I say this? Is Perfectly Posh a scam or something? No, this place is not a scam but there are some things that I feel most people don’t know when they get into businesses like these that they definitely need to know.
In this short review I’ll be going over how it all works, how you make money, the reality of making money here, and who I recommend this for.
Perfectly Posh Business Opportunity Review
- Website: perfectlyposh.com
- Cost: Around $99 for a starter kit (price varies)
- Legit?: Yes
- Recommended?: Not for many; more on this
Perfectly Posh is an mlm company that was founded in 2011 by Ann Dalton and Andrew McBride. They sell products that fall into the realm of cosmetics/pamper type products and rely on independent representatives (aka consultants) to market and sell these products.
The mlm, or multi-level marketing, side of the business means that consultants can go out and recruit other consultants into the business and make money off of their efforts. This is similar in structure to a pyramid scheme and is the cause of many scam accusations.
Going with the current trend in the market, Perfectly Posh products are focused on being as natural and as healthy as possible. There are a range of products that they sell from hand cremes, to face masks, to lipstick, and more.
Surprisingly, the products aren’t insanely high priced like many mlm’s products are… well… they are expensive but nothing outrageous anyhow.
Just to give you an idea of what type of products you are looking at here and the prices, here is a screenshot of a few…
How You Make Money As A Consultant
There are a lot of ways to make money and get bonuses as a consultant within this company, but the main 2 ways are direct sales and recruitment of other consultants.
Direct sales are the sales that you make directly to customers as a consultant. How it works is you will buy products directly from Perfectly Posh and then resell those products at a markup price, which means you keep the difference. You will start out earning 20% commissions on your sales but as you move up the ranks you can earn as much as 25%.
If you want to make good money with this business model you are pretty much going to have to be big into recruitment. All the top earners know this.
The way it works is that you will earn commissions from the sales that your personal recruits make, as well as the sales that their recruits make, and so on. And the higher up the ranks you go the more people beneath you in this mlm structure you can make money off of.
Advancing Up The Ranks
In order to take full advantage of the compensation plan here you are going to have to advance up the ranks. So how do you do this? Well the key to advancement is recruitment of more consultants.
There are 9 ranks total and advancing up these ranks is all about increasing your “CV” (aka company volume) which is the volume of sales that consultants in your downline make in a given month.
Below I listed the first 5 ranks. As you can see you will start out as a Protege when you first buy your starter kit. Then in order to advance to the Pink rank you will have to make $1,000 in sales. From there you will only have to do $500/mo in sales for all the ranks above. The difference is that you will have to increase your CV, which are the sales from your downline, which pretty much means you are going to have to recruit more and more people in.
- Protege – Purchase starter kit
- Pink – Do $1,000 in PV
- Pink Plus 1 – $500/mo PV + $2,000/mo CV
- Pink Plus 2 – $500/mo PV + $4,000/mo CV
- Pink Plus 3 – $500/mo PV + $4,000/mo CV
Here is a chart of how this all works from Perfectly Posh…
Sound Easy? Its Not
The fact of the matter is that most people that get involved with mlm’s like this fail miserably. The way they are set up (mlm structure) and rely so much on recruitment of other members to make good money make is extremely difficult to make good money. In order to make it you have to recruit, recruit, and recruit some more. You have to climb your way to the top and more up the ranks.
Statistically speaking, way more people will be at the bottom of this pyramid mlm structure than at the top, which means most people won’t make much.
Unfortunately I couldn’t find an official income disclosure by Perfectly Posh to prove this point. But I have reviewed dozens of other mlm’s, many of them very similar like Mary Kay & Younique. They are all very similar when it comes to the earnings that consultants make… very few make good money.
I would also like to point out that I find it strange and somewhat suspicious that Perfectly Posh hasn’t released an income disclosure for their consultants. Its pretty obvious that they are trying to hide the truth, which would damage their business growth.
Final Thoughts & What I Recommend
Most consultants that get involved in mlm businesses like this do so without knowing what they are getting themselves into. Many of them end up getting discouraged and quitting, which then leads to all the bad reviews on sites like the Better Business Bureau (Perfectly Posh has a F rating with the BBB by the way).
While I don’t consider this a scam, and you can definitely make good money as a consultant, its not for everyone.
The fact of the matter is that very few people that get involved in this will go on to make good money. As I’ve said, if you want to make good money you have to recruit. You have to build up your downline and make money off of their efforts. If you don’t have the salesperson type personality where you can sell anyone on anything, then this might not be the best idea.
Personally, I have nothing even close to that type of personality, and besides I’m a guy so this would never work out. But if you are like me and are just not the salesperson type, and you want another option for making money with your own business, I suggest you read my post on how I make a living working online (link below). I work for myself online and its a pretty awesome career. In the post I wrote I explain what it is that I do, how it all works, and how others can do the same.
