Is Inspired Opinions a Scam? What You Should Know
Inspired Opinions claims to pay pretty well when it comes to completing online surveys, over the phone surveys, and in-person focus groups. But is this place going to be worth your time to join? Or is Inspired Opinions a scam like some of the many other online survey sites seem to be?
I have reviewed this survey panel to help give you and other people a better understanding of what you are getting yourself into. After reading this review I hope to leave you more informed and with the ability to make a better decision on whether or not it is worth your time to join.
Inspired Opinions Review
- Name: Inspired Opinions
- Website: inspiredopinions.com
- Cost: Free to Join
- Recommended?: For some, but not all. More on this later
First things first, Inspired Opinions is not a scam. They are well trusted and I would consider them to be on the better side of the online paid survey industry (But this doesn’t mean you should join).
They are owned by Schlesinger Associates which is a market research company that has been around for over 40 years and maintains a good reputation. They perform market research for clients based on their needs. Big companies pay them big money to get consumers’ opinions, like mine and yours.
Inspired Opinions started out more focused on market research in the health and medical field, but since has branched out and now you can expect surveys that cover just about anything.
They offer 3 different ways to participate in market research and to earn rewards which is nice.
And what is really nice is that you can get paid some decent money, much more than your normal paid survey site.
How Much Do They Pay
Inspired Opinions is one of the rare paid survey sites that actually pays good. They seem to provide better quality and more intensive surveys, but there are worth it for the money you can make.
The amount you can make varies greatly depending on the client’s needs and the type of survey you are taking.
Types Of Surveys
They offer 3 main types of surveys. These include online surveys, over the phone surveys, and in-person focus groups at one of their 16 locations.
You could get paid $75 for a 60 minute phone survey, or you could get paid $30. You could get paid $200 for an in-person focus group that takes 2 hours, or you could get paid $80. And for the online surveys you could earn a decent amount of points, but usually nothing to write home about.
The Best Way To Get Paid
Without a doubt I would say that they best way to make money is with the in-person focus groups. So if you live anywhere near any of their locations you could look into participating in these. The locations are shown below…
With these focus groups you can earn up to $200 from what I have seen. And they generally take around 1 – 2 hours to participate in.
Of course the downside to it all is that they take the most work. You actually have to travel to one of their locations to participate.
Reward Points… How Much Are They Worth?
With much of your participation you will be rewarded in what they call “reward points” and not actual money. However, these reward points can later be redeemed.
Each reward point has the value of 1 cent. so it will take 100 points to = $1. Once you reach the balance of 1,000 points or more you can then redeem your points for Amazon gift cards.
My #1 Complaint
As I’ve went over, Inspired Opinions pays pretty darn well for your time, especially when it comes to the in-person focus groups.
So what could I possible complain about? Who could complain about earning $150 bucks or so for an hour of time participating in a study?
Well the problem isn’t the pay. The problem is LACK OF OPPORTUNITY. Believe me when I say that you will NOT get many chances to earn that kind of money.
You will probably only get to participate in opportunities like this several times in a year. You might get invited to more than that but the screening process is likely going to disqualify you for some.
How To Get Started
Even with my big complaint that I just went over I still think that InspiredOpinions is a great way to earn some extra cash, just don’t count on it often that’s for sure.
So if you do want to sign up and get started the process is pretty simple.
This is free to do. All you need to do is enter your name, email, birthday, gender, and a few other personal details. Then they will give you a series of questions, maybe 2-3.
Then they will send you an email that contains a link which you have to click on to complete your registration.
After your registration is complete you will have to answer some other questions to complete your profile so that they know more about you and can better match you with appropriate opportunities.
And after that you are ready to go. Just don’t expect any surveys or other opportunities right away. It will take some time.
Final Thoughts & My Recommendation
Honestly I usually don’t care much at all for paid survey sites. The opportunity with these kind of sites just isn’t there and you barely make any money for the time you put in. But I will say that One Opinion is different from the normal paid survey sites like SwagBucks, Opinion Outpost, etc.
They pay pretty well for the time you put in. Their downfall is the extreme lack of opportunity. You will NOT get many opportunities to earn money. Its not like SwagBucks and other sites where there might be 50 things you can do to earn money every day (very little money though).
Overall, I think Inspired Opinion is a good way to earn extra cash from time to time and I will recommend it for exactly this. Just don’t expect to make a living off of it by any means.
