Harris Poll Online is one of many paid survey sites online. It may come across as a good way to make money online, but does this have any truth to it? Or is Harris Poll Online a scam like some of the many others out there. In this short review I’ll be going over all you need to know about this place so that you can make a more informed decision on whether or not they are worth signing up for.
And I’ll cut straight to the chase here. NO, Harris Pool Online is not a scam. However…. they aren’t all that great either and I’ll be going over why in this review.
Harris Poll Online Review
- Name: Harris Poll Online
- Website: harrispollonline.com
- Cost to Join: Free
- Recommended?: Not Really, more on this at the end
Harris Poll Online is owned and operated by Harris Interactive Inc, which is a market research company that has been around since the 1960’s.
They are definitely one of the more legitimate paid survey sites out there, but this doesn’t mean they are worth your time.
Harris Poll offers rewards from completing surveys online. You complete a survey and you earn points, which can then be redeemed for rewards of real value. They also offers some more unusual ways to earn points such as participating in focus groups.
How It Works
The process of what you do and how you make money can be summarized in 3 steps…
1) Sign Up
Of course the first thing you have to do is sign up. This is free to do and just requires your name, email, a password, your gender, and your birthday.
One thing to note is that currently they do not have an open registration. You have to be referred to them through a member. This is easy to do though. Just Google “Harris Poll Online” sign up and you will find pages with links you can sign up through.
2) Take Surveys & More
After joining you will be given a survey that you can participate in immediately. This is a survey that you will be required to complete if you want to participate at Harris Poll Online.
After that you will be allowed to pick and choose what surveys you take. And besides surveys you will also be able to participate in chat room focus groups and even in-person focus groups.
With each survey, focus group, etc that you participate in you will win points.
3) Redeem Points
Once you get 1,250 points you are able to redeem them for gift cards. They offer gift cards for Amazon, Walmart, iTunes, etc.
How Much Money Can You Make?
The answer to this question is not very much unfortunately. This has become the norm in the online paid survey industry.
Paid surveys are the main thing that Harris Online Poll has to offer, so you can’t really count much on making money via focus groups.
The online surveys pay very little.
Generally you can expect them to take 5-25 minutes to complete and you can expect to earn anywhere from 75 – 150 points. These numbers will vary and you occasionally will get a survey that pays out more or less, but this is what you can expect to see the majority of the time.
What Is The Real Value Here?
Ok, so each time you reach 1250 points you can get a $10 gift card. This means that 125 points = $1.
So if you are making 75 – 150 points per survey this means you are making $0.60 – $1.20 per survey. And since these surveys take take 5 – 25 minutes to complete that means you will make WAY less than minimum wage generally… unless you get lucky and get a short survey that pays on the higher end of things.
Another Way To Make Money
Harris Poll Online also offers sweepstakes that you can enter to win. Their biggest drawing is performed quarterly and you can win $10,000. This is extremely rare and you should definitely not count on that.
Some of the more common complaints that I have with Harris Online Poll along with many others include…
As I just explained, you will make very little money on this site. But that is kind of expected, as no online survey site pays well.
This is one of the many pains of online surveys. At Harris Poll Online you will not qualify for every survey that you try to take. It is frustrating but it is not uncommon to start taking a survey and then find out you are disqualified. This is a waste of time and annoying.
They will give you 15 points if you are disqualified but that is basically nothing.
Harris Poll Online doesn’t have all that great of opportunity. When it comes to the online surveys you shouldn’t expect much. I would say not to expect any more than 5 surveys per week, which you will receive via email notification.
Final Thoughts & Do I Recommend This Place?
Honestly I do not recommend Harris Poll Online, or any online paid survey site for that matter. The opportunity with this site just isn’t there. They don’t offer enough surveys and other opportunities to make much at all.
If you are interested in earning pocket change taking paid surveys and more, then I suggest SwagBucks. SwagBucks makes everything a little more fun, giving you the chance to earn money playing games, watching videos, searching the web, taking surveys, and more.
But like I said, I don’t really recommend any paid survey site. They just don’t pay much at all and there are better ways to make money online with your spare time.
I make a living working online for myself and I sure as heck am not going around taking paid surveys. I have written a post on what I do to make money online, how it all works, and how others can do the same. You can click the link below to read about it.
