Is DOSH.Cash a Scam? – Real Review of The DOSH App

The DOSH app is a cashback app that a lot of people are promoting online. With the many scams and worthless programs that exist online you may be hesitant to join and wonder if its even legit or is dosh.cash a scam that is just going to rip you off in one way or another? If you are suspicious of this cashback program then you are right where you need to be.

I’ve been using the Dosh app for a bit now and in this review I’ll be going over everything. I’ll be covering how it all works, how you earn cashback, why so many people are promoting it, and more.

The Dosh app is a cashback app that gives you money back for shopping at certain stores, eating at certain restaurants, and they even have some pretty good travel cashback deals if you are looking to go on a trip.

If you are unfamiliar with cashback programs this may sound a bit strange to you, but its really not. The way it works is like this: Businesses pay Dosh to refer buyers to them. Dosh then offers cashback as an incentive for people to shop at these places. So they are getting paid from the businesses when people shop through them and they are giving the shoppers, which are people like you and I, a portion of that money that they are making. Its simple concept really and its totally legit.

Personally I think cashback apps are pretty awesome because they give you money back for doing what you already do, and its no extra cost to you. Some other good cashback programs that exist include Ibotta & Ebates.

Inside The App

When you open up the app the first thing you will have to do is hook up a credit/debit card to your account. The way the whole cashback thing works is that when you use your credit/debit card for any of the offers the cashback will be credited automatically. This is nice because a lot of other cashback apps require you to upload a picture of the receipt which can be a burden.

Now I know that many people are hesitant to give their credit/debit card information to this app and I’ll go over this more soon.

Cashback Offers

Inside the app you will see two main options for cashback offers, Nearby and Online. The Nearby tab will show all the cashback offers that are nearby based on your location. This app tracks your location automatically so it will update your results without you having to do anything.

Nearby Offers

The nearby offers will vary a lot. If you live in a rural area then you might not find all too many in this tab. But if you live in a city then you should have plenty.

Personally I live in a somewhat rural area so there isn’t too much here. However, there are still some pretty good offers, such as the Denny’s cashback offer that will give you 10%  of your money back, which I love by the way.

Nearby offers usually include a lot of restaurant cashback offers that are in the area. If you like to eat out then this can save you some good money.

As I said, with any of these offers you will be credited with your cashback automatically after using your linked card.

Online Offers

Online offers will pretty much be the same for everyone as long as you live in the same country. You will find all sorts of different places you can shop at here including Walmart, Sam’s Club, Ray-Ban, Puma, Toms, Under Armour, and a heck of a lot more.

Getting cashback for online offers is very easy. You just browse through the offers in the app and when you find one you like you can click the link they provide. When you click the link it will take you to the official online store for that offer (ex: walmart.com, underarmour.com, etc) and then all you have to do is your normal shopping. The cashback will automatically be credited to your account when you use the card you link.

Other Offers

I mentioned in the beginning that they also offer decent cashback for certain travel offers. I have never personally took up any of these offers but they will give you some good saving if you can make use of them. As you can see below, there are offers ranging from around $80 – $700 cashback…

Referral Bonuses

Dosh has a pretty darn good referral system. The amount they will pay members to refer other members varies from time to time, but right now as I’m writing this they will give you a $15 bonus for each person you refer to them who links a card inside the app.

I honestly don’t know how they can afford to pay this big of referral bonuses but they do and things seem to be working out so I’m not complaining.

If you are going to download the app I would appreciate it if you use my referral link here to help me out: dosh.cash/join. You will also get a $5 bonus from joining through my link. After joining you can then get people to sign up with your own referral code and you will get bonuses.

This is the reason you will find so many people promoting this app.

Getting Paid

If you look up in the top right of the app you will see a wallet icon with your account balance beside it. If you click on that you will be able to see all your earnings. As you can see in my account I made some referral bonuses and got cashback from eating at Denny’s recently…

Payment Proof

I recently cashed out  $30 from my account to my Paypal account as you can see here…

After I withdrew the money from the Dosh app the money was literally in my Paypal within 10 seconds or so, which is really nice.

Complaints

As with anything there are always complaints. Dosh is pretty good but there are still some legitimate complaints that I as well as other users have that you should be aware of.

One complaint that I have come across is that Dosh only works with Visa, Mastercard & American Express. At this time you cannot link your Discover card to the app. I’m guessing they will probably include the ability to use Discover cards in the future too but who knows.

I have a Visa credit card that I hooked up so it doesn’t really matter to me. However, one complaint that I do have is the lack of  “Nearby” offers. As I mentioned earlier, this really depends on where you live. The area where I am at I feel that they could do better. I expect them to partner with more and more stores/restaurants in the future so hopefully there will be more offers available in the coming months.

Other than that everything is pretty good. The app is very easy to use and things run smoothly… nothing complicated about it. However if you do run into problems with it I would guess that their support probably isn’t very good. This is just the reality with pretty much every app service these days so I would expect poor help.

Final Thoughts & What I Recommend

Cashback programs are great because they pay you some money back for doing what you are going to do regardless, which include shopping, eating out, etc. And Dosh is definitely one of the better cashbacks apps out there at this time. In my opinion Dosh and Ibotta are the best. Dosh is much newer but because of the big referral bonuses that they give out I would say this is the better one if you are going to use any at this time. I also like how they make it really easy any automated by just linking your card to them.

If you want to get the Dosh app you can use my referral link here dosh.cash/join to help me out. If you do I thank you and really appreciate it. I hope you enjoy the app and I hope you can get some nice referral bonuses as well.
