Of all the different social media sites out there I would have to say that Twitter is my favorite when it comes to promoting my online business. Why is it my favorite? Because I feel it is the easiest to grow and to promote on. In this article I am going to explain how I was able to grow my twitter following by 500+ followers a week, and 5 minutes max per day doing so. And this is no joke, nor is it difficult.
First off, you need to create a free account with Crowdfire. This is a social media engagement app that is developed by Touch Soft. In short what this app does is help you target certain groups of people and follow & unfollow with ease. We’ll get more into the details below, but believe me it works very well. It is an android app and can be installed on smartphones or you can go to www.crowdfireapp.com and create an account on any computer.
Ok, so lets take a look at my Crowdfire account and see what all it offers.
Upon login, your nonfollower page will come up. As you can see I have 10 nonfollowers. Usually after I follow people I give them a day or two to follow me back. If they don’t then I take it as they don’t want to so I unfollow them.
This is as simple as clicking the minus button located to the right.
Followers & Unfollowers
As you can see you can also keep track of your recent unfollowers and recent followers. By seeing who follows and unfollows you, you are able to better determine exactly who your audience is.
Then below that there is the inactive following tab. This allows you to see who is inactive and how long they have been inactive. Usually I filter its results for a couple months inactivity and unfollow those people.
Now onto what I would say is my favorite feature of Crowdfire, the Copy Followers and Keyword Follow tabs. Lets take a look at these
With this feature you can copy other accounts’ followers. So if your website’s theme is NFL fan gear you might want to copy followers of certain NFL teams. As you see below I searched the official Pittsburgh Steelers twitter account and it brought up a list of their friends.
Being able to copy the friends of a twitter account that is related to yours is a big help. Their friends are obviously interested in what they have to say, and since your account is similar that would be likely to follow you.
This is a great way to get friends that are interested in your business and potential customers.
This feature is similar to Copy Followers and allows you to find and follow people that have the same interests as you by searching hashtags. Having interest in your field means they are potential customers. Lets take a look below.
If your site’s theme is NFL fan gear then searching #nflplayoffs is going to bring you a lot of people going crazy over the NFL. They are talking about it, you are talking about it, its likely to lead to a follow.
This is a great way to target specific groups of people that are likely to go to your website and hear what you have to say.
Lastly I want to show you guys this nice automate feature that allows you to send direct messages to new followers. As you see below you just type in the automatic message you want to be sent.
This feature is definitely worth it. As I said earlier, I have been able to increase my following 500+ weekly, and when each of those followers is getting a direct message to visit your site, many of them do.
I did not set up my automated message when I first started using Crowdfire, and when I did it made a noticeable difference.
How to Utilize for Massive Growth
So as I mentioned earlier, this does not take much time at all. I’m talking less than 5 minutes per day.
Here is the basic routine you should follow:
- Follow a bunch of people
- copy followers or keyword follow
- Wait a day or two for them to follow you back
- Unfollow all of the nonfollowers who have not followed back
- see who recently unfollowed you
- this allows you to get a better idea of what type of people you attract and should follow
Here is a short little demo video of me doing this
Here is the reasoning with this method. When you follow someone they receive a notification and you have the best chance of being followed back right when they see that notification. So that is why, after you follow a bunch of people, you wait about a day or so to let them follow you back. If they don’t follow you back you take it as they did not want to, so you unfollow them. I know this doesn’t work out perfectly but this is exactly what I do and I have found it to work unbelievably well.
Oh ya, one thing that is unfortunate is that you can only follow 120 people at one time due to Twitter rules. Its annoying but its still a good lot of people at one time.
Besides using Crowdfire and this method, you have to make sure your twitter account is decent so that people will want to follow you. So
- don’t spam all the time
- tweet regularly (at least once a day)
- tweet interesting content
If you have a decent twitter account and use Crowdfire with the method I explained you WILL grow. So try it out and let me know what you think.
